The Consortium signs up to Clean CO2, the brand name of the carbon management and offset programme developed by the company Lavola Cosostenibilitat

Beginning this academic year 2017-18, the visitors programme to the Maresme Consortium for Municipal Solid Waste Treatment has signed up to the Clean CO2 initiative, the brand name of the carbon management and offset programme developed by the company Lavola Cosostenibilitat, which allows effective reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Aware that life in a modern society inevitably leaves an important ecological footprint, the Consortium has taken a firm decision and will evaluate and compensate for the carbon footprint left by its visitors programme.

With this in mind, the Consortium has reached an agreement with a high quality emissions reduction project from the voluntary carbon market, which has as its ultimate goal to impact positively, not only on the environment by reducing CO2 emissions, but also on the social environment, where every project is developed, boosting the local economy, increasing employment, etc.

As a guarantee of its offset of carbon emissions, the Consortium will obtain the certificate and the Clean CO2 Stamp, which recognises the carbon neutrality of its visitors programme, and receive an assessment at the end of the 2017-2018 programme to show its efficiency.
