The Consortium for Municipal Solid Waste Treatment of Maresme becomes the capital of the sector

Mataró hosted the Second Conference of Waste Treatment Plants organized by Valoriza Environmental Services on the 23rd and 24th of March

More than 50 professionals from the waste treatment sector from all over Spain and Portugal came together in Mataró on the 23rd and 24th of March to attend the Second Conference of Waste Treatment Plants organised by Valoriza Environmental Services. Valoriza is one of the companies that make up UTE Ecological Treatments at the Consortium plant for Municipal Solid Waste Treatment of Maresme. Javier San Millán, CEO of Valoriza Environmental Services inaugurated the Conference in the Maresme Centre for Waste Recovery, together with Carles Salesa, Technical Manager of the Waste Consortium in Maresme, and Francesc Giró, Planning Director at the Catalonia Waste Agency.On the 23rd the conference addressed themes related to responsibilities in the case of work related accidents, collaborative innovation, the organisation of the maintenance of the Centre and the importance of prevention. Also under discussion will be the tax on waste and the financing of the Catalan waste model, the increase in the recovery of recyclable material and technical aspects of waste management in the United States.On the 24th there was a technical visit to the Centre to value the new lines for the intermediate fraction which have been installed in order to increase the rate of material recovery.The Second Conference of Waste Treatment Plants is one of the most important events in Valoriza’s calendar, a company which forms part of The Sacyr Group’s international project, and means that the city of Mataró becomes the Peninsula’s capital of waste treatment during these two days in March.
