Last Thursday, 4th March, the Director of the Maresme Waste Consortium, Carles Salesa, and its President, the Mayor of Mataró, David Bote, attended the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Catalan Waste Agency.

Salesa did so in his capacity as the Lead Technician of the Environment and Mobility Commission of the Territory and Sustainability area of the FMC, and David Bote attended as Vice-President of the same Commission.
The Board of Directors agreed that the Agency will allocate €11.4 million to grants and subsidies for the implementation of green points, projects for the prevention and recycling of industrial waste, soil recovery and the promotion of the circular economy of waste.

In general terms, the aim of this aid is to provide companies and local authorities with instruments to improve their environmental performance in terms of waste prevention and management and to accelerate the transition towards more circular models, within the framework of the objectives set by the European Union and the Programme for the prevention and management of waste and resources in Catalonia (PRECAT20).
