The award is a recognition of the actions and the trajectory of the City in the field of Social Responsibility in the last twenty years
The city of Mataró has won the award for Socially Responsible Territory in the 7th edition of the Respon.cat awards. This award values the work in the field of Social Responsibility developed by the different agents in the territory such as Maresme Circular.
Following the creation of the social responsibility awards, the Economic and Social Council of Mataró, MÉS Mataró-Empresa-Sociedad, has acted as a catalyst in the presentation of a single city candidacy of the different initiatives, led by the City Council of Mataró, Maresme Circular, FAGEM, UGT, CCOO, PIMEC, and the Tecnocampus, among others.
The document highlights good practices and actions in terms of Social Responsibility which have been promoted in the city in the last 20 years.
Mataró emphasizes the sustainability and efficiency of the city, and the candidacy is clearly committed to disseminating other business formulas that are democratic, inclusive and focused on the impact on the territory and society. Projects such as the Mataró-Maresme Circular Park, the creation of the chairs of Circular Economy and Social Economy and the organisation by the City Council of the Mataró 2030 Urban Agenda are tools to achieve a more inclusive, resilient, smart, healthy and sustainable city.
The jury has also valued and recognized the work of trade unions in the defence of labour rights, the promotion of equality plans in companies or the different actions they carry out to achieve a better, more feminist and sustainable world.
