The system will allow new qualitative data to be available to the studies on odoriferous impact which have been in place since last year

The Maresme Consortium for Municipal Solid Waste Treatment has installed a weather station at the waste recovery plant this week, with the objective of providing even more accurate data to the different studies on odoriferous impact which have been in progress since 2017.
 
The station will allow the direct relationship between potential episodes of bad smells and the possible implication of the plant to be analysed. To achieve these objectives, the weather station is equipped with various sensors: a thermo hygrometre (humidity and temperature), anemometer (wind speed), weather-vane (wind direction) and pluviometer (rainfall), as well as UV and solar sensors.
 
The installed equipment is extremely precise, providing temperature measurements with a maximum margin of error of only 0.5ºC, and wind measurements beginning at only 1.6km/h with samples every 2.5 seconds. A double pluviometer system guarantees highly accurate rainfall measurements.
 
The weather station connects remotely (wirelessly) to the central console and allows access to the results in real time on the internet. In the coming days it will be possible to access the measurements at the Consortium website (cresidusmaresme.com).
