The prize-giving ceremony for the best 2017-18 course entries was held on Friday 26th October

Last Friday the 26th October the prize-giving ceremony for the 4th annual competition for objects made from recyclable material was held. The competition was organized by the Maresme Integral Centre for Waste Recovery, and the president of the Maresme Consortium for Municipal Solid Waste Treatment, David Bote, attended the ceremony to award the prizes for the best entries from schools during the 2017/18 course.

The winning school in Category A (primary education) was the Marinada School in Montornès del Vallès, with its entry: THE ECO FRIENDLY BOARD GAME, created by children in their 6th primary school year.

In Category B, for secondary education and above, the winning school was Corazón de María in Blanes, with its entry of a portable and sustainable urban vegetable garden, created by pupils in their 4th year of ESO.

The prizes are awarded every year with the aim of promoting awareness and good habits in waste management and recovery among the visitors to the Centre. With this initiative, the schools which visit the Centre have a creative outlet to express their understanding of recycling and waste recovery in an artistic way. The prize for each school is educational material, chosen by each centre, to the value of €750.
