UTE TEM workers, Marta Egea, Jordi Seseña and Angel Corredor, are the prize- winners in the competition for ideas organized by the company as part of the acts and activities in the Health and Safety at Work Week. The Mayor of Mataró, David Bote, was chosen to present the prizes to the workers of UTE-Tratamientos Ecológicos del Maresme, the concessionary company of the Centro Integral de Valorización de Residuos del Maresme. Marta Egea proposed increasing staff rotation during shifts in the sorting cabins, therefore reducing exposure time for the worker in the work station dealing with bulky waste and bulky waste support. Jordi Seseña proposed hanging a net to prevent small objects falling from the tail drum on conveyer belt CT-139 and causing possible injuries. Ángel Corredor proposed improving the access to the conveyer belt CT-153 to solve blockages through the construction of a platform. His collaboration in suggesting ideas in all areas of the centre throughout the year was also acknowledged. In his speech, the Mayor of Mataró, David Bote, thanked UTETEM for this initiative and congratulated the winners.

Bote also encouraged the company and staff of UTE to continue to support initiatives and measures which facilitate safety at work.
