The manager of the Maresme Consortium, Carles Salesa, has taken part in the XXIV Environmental Technical Seminars on the management and treatment of urban waste, held in Mérida from the 15th-17th November.

Carles Salesa gave a conference on the role technology plays in a successful waste treatment model.

The regional manager of Development in Catalonia from VALORIZA (a UTE TEM company at the Consortium plant), Antonio Orrego, has also participated in these seminars, taking part in a round table discussion on waste treatment within the framework of Horizon 2020.

These seminars have brought together 300 professionals from companies and public and private organisations from the sector, who have discussed themes such as waste-to-energy, the change in the waste management model, and the objective to reach “zero landfill” by the year 2020.
