The Pompeu Fabra Library in Mataró is hosting an exhibition promoted by Maresme Circular with the aim of raising awareness of our consumption habits and publicising the circular economy as a solution to the current resource crisis.

Developed by Anthesis Lavola, the project entitled ‘An economic model hanging by a thread’ can be visited until 31st January.

The exhibition is conceived around the idea of a clothes shop in which we find three clothes racks, on which there are different hangers which explain what the circular economy consists of and propose 10 actions to prevent the generation of waste and extend the life of products.

Taking advantage of resources that are normally wasted, consuming collaboratively and opting for eco-designed products are some of the tips included in the proposal.

In addition, for five days (Tuesday 17th, Thursday 19th, Tuesday 24th, Thursday 26th and Tuesday 31st January from 17 to 20h) there will be an educator who will answer questions from attendees and encourage them to interact with the project.

The exhibition, which is part of the Maresme Circular environmental education programme, also leaves room for citizen participation with some hangers available to visitors so that they can share reflections, advice or local resources aimed at promoting the circular economy.

The exhibition is expected to travel to other venues in the Maresme region in 2023, such as the Antoni Comas Library and the Mataró Popular Library.
