The secretary for public municipal services, Hector Eduardo Anaya, accompanied by the director of cleaning and public sanitation from Aguascalientes Town Hall, Alfredo Alonso Ruiz, and counsellors Verónica Ramírez de Luna and María del Refugio López, visited the Consortium for Municipal Solid Waste Treatment of Maresme plant on Monday June 20th.

The meeting with the officials from this Mexican town, with an area of influence of almost 1.2 million inhabitants, was organised thanks to  interest shown by the Aguascalientes municipality in learning about the waste management and recovery model followed in the Maresme.

The Mexican delegation was received by the director of the Consortium, Carles Salesa, and by UTETEM’s development director, Toni Orrego.

After touring the whole plant and seeing the different waste management processes, the Mexican delegation had a meeting with the president of the Consortium and Mayor of Mataró, David Bote.
