During the tour you can also see the process of <strong>biostabilization<\/strong> of organic waste.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9642\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9642\" class=\"wp-image-9642 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Alc\u0327adors-accessibles-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Alc\u0327adors-accessibles-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Alc\u0327adors-accessibles-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Alc\u0327adors-accessibles-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Alc\u0327adors-accessibles-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Alc\u0327adors-accessibles-680x510.jpg 680w, https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Alc\u0327adors-accessibles.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-9642\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Accessible platforms that allow viewing of the different processes of municipal waste treatment \/ Maresme Circular<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Last year (2022-2023) the Centre received more than <strong>6,200 visitors<\/strong>, and it is estimated that this year more than <strong>7,000 users<\/strong> will come to enjoy the guided tour.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Virtual reality as a tool for environmental education<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Since November 2022, when the <a href=\"https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/en\/consortium\/virtual-reality-a-new-tool-for-environmental-education\/\">Maresme Circular <strong>Immersive Experience<\/strong><\/a> activity began, school visits to the Maresme Integral Centre for Waste Recovery have been increasing.<\/p>\n<p>The activity consists of a <strong>journey to the<\/strong> <strong>present and future of recycling<\/strong> through <strong>Virtual Reality<\/strong> and is experienced as a complement to the guided tour of the different waste treatment processes at the Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Using Meta Quest 2 virtual reality glasses with a resolution of 5K, and through a series of virtual flights that generate a highly immersive 3D sensation, the user flies over the Maresme Integral Centre for Waste Recovery enjoying panoramic views of Matar\u00f3 and much of the region, travels into space and lands in a <strong>sustainable and self-sufficient city of the future.<\/strong> All this in 25 minutes and with the help of an animated drone that besides guiding the visitor, teaches concepts such as the <strong>circular economy<\/strong> and downcycling.<\/p>\n<p>The experience is suitable for people from <strong>7 years old<\/strong> and is available in three languages: <strong>Catalan, Spanish and English<\/strong>. Any school or institute can request it by <a href=\"https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/un-volt-als-residus\/\">contacting Maresme Circular<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u2018Un volt als residus&#8217; <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Both activities are part of the environmental education program <a href=\"https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/en\/a-tour-of-the-plant\/\"><strong>&#8216;Un volt als residus&#8217;<\/strong><\/a>, which was created in 2013 with the aim of raising awareness about the problems of production and consumption models that have led to the current <strong>climate emergency.<\/strong> It teaches how waste management has a key role to play hand in hand with the co-responsibility of the whole society to remake the future. More than <strong>60,000 people<\/strong> have already taken part in the program.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9645\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img
