The most original recipe, with the best use of seasonal and local products, will win a <strong>meal for two people<\/strong> at the <strong>El Nou-Cents restaurant in Matar\u00f3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shorturl.at\/kxBKL\"><img class=\"alignnone wp-image-9515 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/consorci-residus-3x4-1747-co\u0300pia-1024x636.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"636\" srcset=\"https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/consorci-residus-3x4-1747-co\u0300pia-1024x636.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/consorci-residus-3x4-1747-co\u0300pia-300x186.jpg 300w, https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/consorci-residus-3x4-1747-co\u0300pia-768x477.jpg 768w, https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/consorci-residus-3x4-1747-co\u0300pia-1536x954.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/consorci-residus-3x4-1747-co\u0300pia-680x423.jpg 680w, https:\/\/maresmecircular.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/consorci-residus-3x4-1747-co\u0300pia.jpg 1854w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The jury will be made up of the head chef of the restaurant El Nou-Cents, <strong>Josep Maria Mart\u00edn<\/strong>, the mindful eating teacher <strong>Marta Castells<\/strong>, a member of Maresme Circular and a member of Rezero.<\/p>\n<p>To participate, contestants will have to send the recipe and photographs and\/or a video to <strong>cbrossa@cresidusmaresme.com<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Prize-giving with cookery workshop<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The prize-giving ceremony will take place on <strong>14th July<\/strong> in the <strong>e-\u00c1gora space at the Pla\u00e7a de Cuba Market in Matar\u00f3<\/strong>, and will be accompanied by a <strong>cookery workshop on reusing food<\/strong> open to the public and especially to all participants in the competition.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is part of a series of actions to reduce food waste that Maresme Circular, a project of the <strong>Maresme Waste Consortium<\/strong>, and <strong>Rezero<\/strong> are carrying out in 2023 as part of the <strong>Maresme Waste Prevention Plan<\/strong>. The Plan, drawn up in 2022, aims to reduce waste generation in the county by <strong>26.4%<\/strong> by 2027, compared to 2010.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>35kg of food wasted<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In Catalonia, each person wastes <strong>35kg of food<\/strong> in good condition per year. 58% of this is wasted in households. On an environmental level, the impact of unused food waste which ends up in waste circuits, is not only a waste of natural resources and energy but also has a major environmental impact in terms of carbon emissions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Making recipes for reuse is one of the many things we can do to avoid waste<\/strong>.
