Maresme Circular is offering a workshop to create sandwich bags from reused material at the Antoni Comas Library in Mataró to promote waste prevention and the circular economy. The activity, which is free with prior registration, will take place on 1st June at 6pm and is aimed at families with children aged 7 and over.

The workshop is part of the promotion of the exhibition ‘An economic model hanging by a thread!‘, which seeks to raise awareness of our consumption habits and the circular economy as a solution to the current resource crisis. Therefore, in addition to teaching participants how to make a reusable wrapper from a used garment, the activity also offers the chance to visit the exhibition.

Developed by Anthesis Lavola, the exhibition – which can be visited until 30th June – is conceived under the idea of a shop with three clothes racks, on which there are different hangers that explain what the circular economy consists of and propose 10 actions to prevent the generation of waste and extend the life of products.

Taking advantage of resources that are normally wasted, consuming collaboratively and opting for eco-designed products are some of the tips contained in the proposal.

The exhibition is part of Maresme Circular’s environmental education programme ‘Un volt als residus‘, and leaves room for citizen participation with a number of coat hangers available for visitors to share reflections, advice or local resources aimed at promoting the circular economy.

It is expected that throughout 2023 the exhibition will travel to other spaces in the Maresme region, such as the Mataró Popular Library.

Until 30th June
