repair and reuse of materials and products to reduce waste production.

Thanks to this video we can begin to more easily visualise the free services that the project will include, such as a library of things where we can borrow objects such as long ladders or drills that we only use occasionally, a second-hand shop to give another life to those clothes that we no longer wear, workshops and talks for citizens, or a space for advice on how to self-repair electronic devices and furniture to extend their useful life.

The video, directed and produced by Anna Fernàndez and Marc Barceló and filmed on the site where Circular Park is to be built, recreates a fictitious Far West that echoes the global warming we are now experiencing. “We produce, we use, we throw away”, begins the presenter Marc Bala, who sets out the problem and immediately presents the solution: “We consume a lot of resources to produce things that we end up throwing away and which generate a lot of waste. But what would happen if we turned this waste into new resources?” This is the new paradigm that the Circular Park wants to promote: to become a circular economy space where waste is converted into new resources.

Overall idea of what the Circular Park will look like

Through images created in 3D, the video also allows us to get an overall idea of what the Circular Park will look like and, in a clear way, reflects the three parties that will participate in the change towards this circular economy: the business community, the citizens and the administration.

The construction of the Mataró-Maresme Circular Park is expected to be carried out in phases. However, the works of the first stage have been postponed due to the discovery of archaeological remains of Roman origin on the plot where the project is to be built. A series of archaeological works are currently being carried out to determine the value of the findings and the impact they may have on the construction of the Circular Park.
