Last week, the Antoni Comas library in Matar\u00f3 hosted the kick-off event for this year’s edition of “Hackgirl”. An event that, as part of the “TecnoGirl” project, aims to foster a passion for technology among young girls through participation in a challenge they have to solve.<\/p>\n
With 10 teams of five girls aged between 12 and 18 from different parts of the Maresme region, the theme of this year’s hackathon revolves around the circular economy. Miquel Caball\u00e9, from the Maresme Waste Consortium gave a talk during the presentation ceremony where he spoke about issues related to waste management such as the grey bin, energy recovery and the impossibility of landfilling, and the large amount of waste we generate and the need to separate it at home. He also took the opportunity to explain some of the activities that will take place in the future Matar\u00f3 Maresme Circular Park, the management of bulky waste, and the door-to-door system in the city of Matar\u00f3. At the ceremony there were also presentations from S\u00f2nia Llorens, director of the TecnoCampus Chair of Circular Economy, Laura Villaret, assistant director of the Pompeu Fabra Library, and Marco Antonio Rodr\u00edguez, coordinator of promotion of technological vocation at TecnoCampus Matar\u00f3.<\/p>\n
