Carles Salesa, Director of the Maresme Waste Consortium, attended the meeting in his role as the lead technician of the Environment and Mobility Commission. In the plenary session of the area, which also has the commissions of Territorial Policy and Urban Planning and Housing, the lines on which they are working were reviewed, defining the priority points and the most urgent needs. With regard to issues to be prioritised in the field of waste and energy, the Commission pointed to the processing of the new laws on waste prevention and management, energy transition, as well as the application of the European Next Generation and Green Deal funds. In addition, the application of the Decree for the promotion of renewable energies in Catalonia, energy sovereignty and the transition of Catalan municipalities towards the circular economy and energy self-supply were also discussed.<\/p>\n
In terms of specific objectives in the field, some of the most relevant issues on which the FMC will work are the fulfilment of European recycling and waste reduction targets, the elimination of single-use plastics, the fight against food waste, the reduction of atmospheric and noise pollution and the promotion of electric vehicles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
