A large delegation from the region of Durham (Ontario, Canada), has visited the plant run by The Consortium for Municipal Solid Waste Treatment of Maresme, interested in our management model, and especially energy recovery.<\/p>\n The representatives from Durham, which has a population of 610,000, \u00a0<\/span>were received by the president of the Consortium and Mayor of Matar\u00f3, David Bote, and by its director, Carles Salesa, who provided an extensive technical explanation of the operation of the plant.<\/p>\n At the head of the Canadian delegation was Roger Anderson, Regional President and Executive Director, accompanied by the advisors and members of the Durham enterprise committee, Nester Pidwerbecki, (President), Colleen Jordan, y John Ballinger.\u00a0Also present were the administrative director<\/span>, Garry Cubitt, the commissioner of the construction department, Cliff Curtis, the director of waste, Mirka Januszkiewicz, the head of waste management, Craig Bartlett, and the supervisor of waste management, Peter Veiga.<\/p>\n Throughout the visit, the delegation showed a keen interest in energy recovery, paying special attention to anaerobic digestion (biogas), which produces an average of 13 million kWh per year at the plant.
