The delegation has taken note of the infrastructure and management models<\/h3>\n

The delegation from the Federation of Municipalities Etihad Baladiet Al Dahiad, located to the south east of Beirut in the Lebanese Republic, has visited the County Council\u2019s EDAR installations and the Consortium plant, to learn from the infrastructure and management model of both installations.<\/p>\n

The Lebanese delegation was received by Josep Triad\u00f3, member of the General Assembly of Maresme, Councillor for the Environment for Maresme County Council, and Mayor of Premi\u00e0 de Dalt, accompanied by the director of CCM Environmental Services, Fernando Cabello, and the Consortium director, Carles Salesa.<\/p>\n

The delegation is very interested in constructing infrastructures in its territory, specifically waste treatment and waste water treatment, hence its visit these days to different institutions in Catalonia.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Federation is made up of various cities and municipalities with a demographic area of nearly two million inhabitants, and is situated very near to the Rafic Hariri international airport, with the main airport road passing through this territory.\u00a0Before the conflict between Israel and Lebanon in 2006, this was a residential and commercial zone, with shops and shopping centres.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now that this land is being reconstructed after the conflict, one of the main concerns of the government is proper water and waste management, and despite being aware of the need to start from scratch, they are visiting working installations which according to them: \u201care reference models we would like to mirror.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Lebanese delegation was led by Mohamad Dergham, President of Etihad Baladiet Al Dahiah; Jaafar Moussa, engineer and consultant; Hassan Mansour, construction company and infrastructure consultant; Mohamad Hage, director of the local development agency; and Abbas\u00a0<\/span>Zahreddine, a Lebanese\u00a0 <\/span>engineer based in Catalonia who collaborates in his country\u2019s development projects.<\/p>\n
