The Baix Llobregat, Alt Pened\u00e8s and the Vall\u00e8s Oriental are the other three counties that exceed the Catalan average.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style='font-family:\"Verdana\",\"sans-serif\";color:#333333;background:white;mso-ansi-language:EN-GB' lang=\"EN-GB\"><br \/> The overall balance for 2015 in municipal waste collection shows a slight increase in the generation of waste in this area, although the figure is still below the Catalan average.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Matadepera is the county which separates its waste most, with a selective collection net figure of 77%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style='font-family:\"Verdana\",\"sans-serif\";color:#333333;background:white;mso-ansi-language:EN-GB' lang=\"EN-GB\"><br \/> In 2015 in the counties in the Barcelona area, 2,245,042 tons of municipal waste was generated, which represents 1.04% more than the previous year.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0The generation per capita is <\/span>1.22 kg per person per day, below the Catalan average which is 1.35 kg per person per day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style='font-family:\"Verdana\",\"sans-serif\";color:#333333;background:white;mso-ansi-language:EN-GB' lang=\"EN-GB\"><br \/> With respect to the global figure in Catalonia, 3.7 million tons of municipal waste was generated in 2015, which corresponds to 1.35 kilos of rubbish per person per day.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0This represents a slight increase with respect to the previous year<\/span> (1.33 kg per person per day).<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0Of total municipal waste, selective collection accounted for 39%, or 1.4 million tons, which is a 3.7%
